General Questions
What is Vestra Wellness and who is it for?
Vestra is a cash pay medical clinic for those who want a deeper conversation about their health, labs, symptoms, goals and long term health risks.
Does Vestra Wellness replace my primary care provider?
No. While Vestra Wellness can address many primary care concerns, patients should maintain a primary care provider who accepts their health insurance for routine care, acute illnesses, vaccinations, cancer screenings, and urgent concerns.
Do you treat urgent medical problems?
No. Vestra does not provide urgent or emergency care. For chest pain, severe shortness of breath, stroke symptoms, suicidal thoughts or other emergent concerns, call 911.
Care Model and Appointments
How do I get started?
The first step is to schedule a free discovery call or email. This brief conversation will help us determine whether Vestra's services are a fit for your needs and goals. We will discuss labs, scheduling, costs and next steps during this call.
Will I need labs or imaging before my visit?
Labs and imaging are strongly recommended before your comprehensive visit. You may complete recommended labs or bring recent lab results from another provider. The exact lab plan depends on your symptoms, goals, health history, and current medications. Vestra may recommend DEXA scans or other body composition testing when appropriate. Labs and imaging occur at outside facilities, generally through Quest or LabCorp, and these costs are billed separately.
What happens at the initial comprehensive visit?
Your initial visit includes a physical exam and detailed review of your health history, symptoms, goals, lifestyle, medications, family history, risk factors, lab results, and body composition. We take time to discuss what your results mean and build a personalized treatment plan based on your needs and preferences.
How often are follow-up visits?
Follow-up frequency is adjusted based on your treatment plan and preferences. When getting started, follow-ups are often scheduled every 4–6 weeks. This allows us to monitor symptoms, medication response, side effects, labs, body composition, and progress.
Pricing and Membership
How much does care cost?
The initial comprehensive visit is $300. Ongoing membership care starts at $125/month. Membership includes ongoing follow-up care, medication management, care plan adjustments, secure messaging, support between visits, and access to discounted supplements through Fullscript.
Labs, imaging, medications, supplements, and outside services are billed separately.
Why is Vestra cash-pay only? Why does Vestra not accept insurance?
The cash-pay model allows for longer visits, more time for education, personalized care planning, and ongoing support without the limitations of traditional insurance-based visits. This helps us focus on your goals, labs, symptoms, lifestyle, and long-term health. Some patients may be able to use HSA or FSA funds, depending on their plan. Costs are often less when working outside the insurance system.
Can I be seeing without a membership?
Yes. A consultation-only visit is available for $300. This includes evaluation and personalized recommendations, but does not include ongoing medication management, follow-up care, secure messaging, or support between visits.
Medications and Supplements
Do you prescribe GLP-1 medications?
Yes, when clinically appropriate. Vestra provides medical weight management and may prescribe GLP-1 medications as part of a broader plan that includes nutrition, exercise, muscle preservation, lab monitoring, and long-term risk reduction.
Do you use compounded medications?
When appropriate, medications may be prescribed through commercial pharmacies or trusted compounding pharmacies. Medication options depend on your medical history, treatment goals, medication availability, safety considerations, and current regulations.
Do you prescribe hormone therapy?
Yes. Vestra offers individualized hormone evaluation and treatment for women and men, including perimenopause and menopause care, menopausal hormone therapy, testosterone evaluation and management, and related hormone concerns.. Vestra does not currently offer hormone pellets. Hormone therapy options may include other forms such as patches, creams, gels, oral medications, or injections when clinically appropriate.
Do you recommend supplements?
Supplements may be recommended when they are appropriate for your goals, symptoms, labs, or nutritional needs. Members have access to additional discounts supplements through Fullscript, but there is no obligation to purchase them there.
